Default How big is my tank?

When I search online for specs on my 1990 EG, some day 4.75 gal and some say 5.1.

Tonight I hit reserve (first time that happened with my new Pingel), went another 15 miles, then put 5.2 gal in the tank.

Hmmm...

Sounds like a station that needs their pumps calibrated.
Could it be 4.75 to stock reserve and 5.1 total?

Just call it 5. How much more do you think there is between 4.75 and 5.1? I know, a quart. Maybe you have a 6 gallon.

That's what today's numbers suggest, isn't it? AFAIK, the tank is original to the bike. Did the MoCo offer a six gal unit in 1990?

Probably the same tank then. But that makes me wonder how much reserve range the Pingel is giving me. I didn't look at the height of the inlet tube when I put it in.

I had to put a 2" reserve tube on my Golen. It gives me about a .8 gallon reserve.

I had to cut about 1/2" off the pickup tube of my pingle so that I would have a 1 gallon reserve.

If I remember right when I first installed it in stock form it was giving me either 1.4 or 1.6 gallon reserve (I don't really remember which).

No. Of course I have one now! There have been larger custom tanks available for a long time, although they tend to be the longer style, which also need a retailored seat.

I'm about to measure my reserve when I get about another hundred miles down.
Empty tank in the on position, then drain completely on reserve into another container to measure.
