Don't do this!
So I found out yesterday it's not a good idea to mess with the radio while on the hwy. I have a Biketronics radio setup in my old EG Classic. That includes their removable splash guard that covers the radio face plate.
So I've been dicking with the settings to get better sound. And it's tough unless your at full speed to get it right. So I have the splash guard in the windshield bag, done messing with radio and I go to put splash guard back on while doing 55mph on the hwy. As I am trying to put it back on I obviously hit the face plate eject button and "Pop" there the Kenwood face plate goes sliding down the asphalt. Gets run over a few times and needless to say, it no longer works. Imagine my frustration!
So I found a used unit for half the price, ordered it. Hoping to just slip on the face plate from that one and be back in action. I'm a DumbAss! For future reference, Do Not Mess With Radio While Cruising!

Of which I am guilty of several such moments in recent years.
I'll be D_____ if I will admit it to them tho.

What I failed to mention also is that I was on a major hwy in rush hour traffic. So I immediately had to pull over, turn around (illegally I might add) go back and locate it. All in hopes it was still functional. Pull to the side, get flashers going, run out into traffic to retrieve. Only thing salvage able was my usb memory card in it with all my tunes. It had been run over multiple times. Really not worth dying for. I am making light of the whole situation but it really was very dangerous, and won't happen again. Probably worse than texting and driving as others have mentioned. Wink!
