Back when we had "real" gas, and I ran the stock Keihin CV carb (#45 pilot, 185 main), with SE air cleaner and "H-D by Kerker" 2 into one exhaust, I averaged 50 MPG. This was a heritage Softail, ridden solo by a 150# rider. I would sometimes see as high as 55 on a trip.

These days, running E10 through a Mikuni HSR42 carb (with "mileage kit" installed) and a windshield, I'm averaging 42-45 MPG.

after reading the post I went down to the station and filled up 3.8 gallons and only 107 miles. I have a front wheel drive speedo with a 21x3.5 spoke i wonder if that throws my MPH and MPG off?

Download a GPS app on your phone and check it that way. You'll know if your speedometer is lying.

Around town, with a fairly spirited throttle hand, I get mid 30's. Highway can get into the high 30's, but I also saw low 30's on the Texas trip during one stretch where I was really moving along into a vicious head wind.

If the bike is running rich would that be an issues? Also here are some pictures. Not sure what you can gather from them.
