Default Jet recommendation please

Gents,

As seen below, my son says the new pipes are making the bike run lean

Had drag pipes and a hypercharger when I bought it, but I never rode.

Now has a stock air cleaner and V&H big radius pipes. Stock CV carb, stock motor, stock cam.

Appreciate any input. I'll also drill out the opening to adjust the mixture screw. Just looking for a baseline to start tuning.

Thanks
Mike

Sart with the slow ( idle) jet. Go with a 45 but have a 48 in hand. Once that is dialed in focus on the main. Have a 170, 175, and a 180 on hand when tuning the main, but again start with the slow. Also read up and pick up some shim washers for the needle. Just a couple of those is enough. YD

That's about what I ran on mine back when I had the CV carb/SE air cleaner and H-D by Kerker 2 into 1 exhaust. 45 slow jet, 185 main jet, adjust idle mixture screw for best idle and ride.

Thanks guys. Bike is like new, just 5,800 miles. Had it for a while, but just got done getting it road worthy. Replaced the original tires, oils, battery, TLC, etc

Stock filter for now. New intake seals and put 50/180 jets in for now. Will be swapping to a better air cleaner soon. Also opened up the port to adjust the a/f mixture and it's running great.

Thanks

46 would probably be enough. I don't think you'll be able to adjust the mixture screw with a 50 in there it will probably still run with it closed
