I never think about this much, pull the enricher out, pump it 3 times - hit the starter button and get ready to go. By the time the I get to the road the e-richer gets pushed in and it never hesitates. I did install a carb kit several years ago, original jet still in the carb - runs like a champ !

My routine for the '95 is 2 pulls on the throttle, enrichener all the way out, start it up and let it run 30 seconds. After about 30 seconds I push the enrichener in about half way or until she idles at 1000 RPMs.
I put on my gear and roll out, taking it easy for the first mile or two then push the enrichener all the way in.
If its cold out she spits and sneezes a little until the motor warms up. It's definitely a cold blooded machine.
