Throttle cables loose at handlebar

Throttle cables loose at handlebar
Both throttle cables are loose where their rigid metal tubes go upward into the handlebar block.
They are ok elsewhere and the throttle action feels okay at the handgrip.
Looks like the metal tubes end right at the entrance to the handlebar block.
I do not see a way to tighten them.
This does not seem to be a matter of adjusting cable tension.
Any thoughts, folks?

I just put the Barnett throttle cables on mine, they should swivel but not move in and out. It took a pretty good amount of force to snap those into place, also, the cables are the same length but the return cable had a smaller end that snaps into the throttle than the pull cable, I know because with a 50\50 chance, I got them wrong and had to take everything back apart.
