I have taken two different ferry lines from Long Island to Connecticut and they don't even have rings in the flooring... Never really a concern though.

Been across Lake Champlain by ferry more times than I can remember. No provisions for tie downs on that line as far as I recall.

Most of the time it's not a worry. One time it was pretty rough, though, and I remember straddling the bike the whole time to keep it from going over. Fortunately it was the short ferry from Grand Isle to Plattsburgh, so it was just a 15 minute ride.

I enjoy my EVO too. Hard to explain to my friends who ride Japanese sport and adventure bikes. A completely different experience.

I have a Kawasaki Versys 650 to and a couple dual sport bikes. I like them all. All very different experiences.

But it is funny how HD evokes such powerful reactions from people, either for or against. I do not understand it. Just a motorcycle that provide a certain experience some like some do not. No big deal. But some people get so worked up about it. It is interesting.

You're talking about the southern crossing. I'm talking about the northern crossing. In between is the hour long crossing between Port Kent and Burlington.
