I think I'd just replace it at this point.

While you're replacing the pickup, check that the cup is tight on the camshaft end too. Seen them get loose and cause all kinds of head scratching to figure out.

I still think it's your ignition pick up not your coil that is causing your issues.

It is a pain in the *** compared to unhooking the crossover, and getting the tank out of the way. I was in a parking lot on a road trip, which is the reason I didn't drain the tank.

Remove the front tank bolt that goes through the frame:
Remove the seat.
Unhook the ground from the battery.
Loosen up the rear tank bolt.
I wedged the tank up as high as it'd go with a hammer handle.

Pull the spark plug wires...

Then with a 1/4 inch ratchet I undid the coil mount bolts, and field wires.

Once you are there, just hook everything back up with the new coil, drop the tank, hook the battery back up, put the tank bolts back in, re-mount the seat.... Fire her up and see if it fixes it.

Cheers,

Zach

Coil is what I'd be looking at. Welcome back!

Thank you guys!I have a LCD borescope I borrowed from work,I am going to get the mini cam up under tank see if I can see any cracks, loose wire or maybe even get those field wires off the coil.Zack If I can get tank up high enough to get at the two wires off,If I had a place to do this garage etc.I would be doing this the rite way, tank off, I'm in my parking lot.wicked sun!
I just stuck scope under there,it looks like goldfish /yellowish goo.or something along mounting bracket seam on coil,Really hard to see,but if coil cracked along mounting bracket would there be leakage at crack?definitely pulling coil!!
