De Blinging my 1992 FLSTC
The prior owner of my 1992 FLSTC added a lot of "Live to Ride, Ride to Live" and gold fittings bling.
I would like to remove it all and replace it with plain OEM or similar.
I need mirrors, gas caps, primary securing bolts, round primary plate, etc.
I want to know where would be a good place to get this stuff and what can I remove without opening a can of worms.
I will add more pictures in a bit.

In order to help you identify parts consider using a parts finder in order to identify the actual part name and part number.
http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche.....asp?make=hdmc
Obtaining a factory service manual (not an owners manual) along with using this forum will also help you to service the bike.
As to acquiring items it would depend if you want factory or after market, new or used.
For example stuff like mirrors, gas caps and the round plate might be acquired new from Boardtracker HD or another harley online dealer at a discount if you desire new.
Alternatively, those used parts are sometimes available from members at a significant discount.
Sometimes when you start researching the prices you will notice that pocket might not match desire and used might make sense.

A place that will help you identify aftermarket parts would be
http://www.jpcycles.com/
They sell at retail but you can research on your own for a supplier.

Difficulty to change as observed by pictures:
Rather easy to change mirrors. Left and right are different. Used would be cheapest Ebay.
Gas caps are easy but keep in mind you need to now if vented or un-vented and left and right are different.
The caliper coins can be popped off when you get new ones.
The big round cover can be changed but you need the disc gasket behind it and change it with bike standing straight-up.
The inspection cover in front of the big round derby would require a gasket and bolt replacement is fine as long as you have bike straight-up.
The smaller round timer cover requires a gasket, bolts and the cover and is sold as a kit by J & P for about $12. No position of bike issue.
The ALLEN/HEX bolts around primary, transmission door and timer cone are a different story.
Those require a little more mechanical skill.
As an easy fix consider some hot toppers or similar as a cover-up.
Get extra for when the primary must be serviced or just replace the primary bolts at that service time.

Yep, first thing I did after purchase was get rid of the "live to ride" stuff. Just not my style. Mine did not have as much as yours...
Bolts, can get at a good hardware store or Fastenal. Just measure them up and make a list. Get correct grade of bolt.
Some of that live to ride stuff like the gas caps might just be a medallion held on with double sided foam tape adhesive. Maybe dental floss to cut the foam tape and solvent to remove the residue.
Mirrors and side covers on fleabay or places like JP, Dennis Kirk, etc. YD

Will I need a torque wrench to replace them properly?
I know, it depends which ones.....
