I'd forgotten about them, good call, Fueling made them as well.

What I particularly like is that the MoCo seems to have done away with the need to water-cool the exhaust port, so there has been some radical thinking to keep the good ole air-cooled V-twin bang up to date. I wonder what the likes of S&S are going to make of the opportunity to boost cubic inches, having given us 124" and 143" alternative twincams?

The water cooling is still present on a few models.

Besides more valves and more spark plugs, the combustion chamber is shaped in such a way that there is minimal heat transfer to it. The more I look into the details of this engine, the more I am impressed with it. They also greatly improved the suspension and have a tool less preload adjusting **** for the shocks. The catalytic converters were relocated and the exhaust was routed differently to keep heat away from the rider's leg.

Now about that air cleaner.........

First thing to replace, I suspect! Hopefully there is a more tasteful SE one in the catalogue. I particularly like the large round 103" TC one, but as I can't afford a new bike.....

Back to the Future....

Honestly, I like it. Although, I had high hopes of seeing a water cooled OHC 4 cylinder in their big touring bikes, but this (no doubt) is what the HD purist would accept over that.

My other love for many years was BMW flat twins, although I also owned an early in-line 4 of theirs. Except their flat-twins, the other current models, parallel twins, fours and six, might as well be any other brand. So I don't see Harley following in those footsteps just yet - I hope.

Ooops - I just realised my 'curmudgeon' control was maxed out for a few moments there.....

Way too new of a model.
Give it at least 3 years for them to work out the bugs.

Looks like the 8-ball is going to be good.

FWIW, Victory produces a bike named the 8 Ball. I assume that is not what you are referring to
