Default 94 FLHR=A collectible

Hi everyone, I was just wondering what some of your thoughts are about the 94 Roadking, and if you feel it will ever be a collectible...

I would guess never. What is so different from the flhs it replaced, what's in a name? Just enjoy riding the wheels of that thing.

If by "collectable" you mean "worth big bux", I'd say not for a very long time. Big value comes from rarity, and there were so many more Evos produced compared to earlier engines.

Fifty years from now, certain Evo models, perfectly preserved from new, might be worth real money. Maybe.

I am convinced that the 1986 FLHT and the 1987 XLH will become total collectables. And Europas. Yeah, those too. Maybe RAV4's. Yeah, that's my retirement, right there. I'll be rich.

These are mass produced bikes that were produced at the pinnacle of mass manufacturing. A springer model has a slightly better chance of retaining more value, but an increase in value is not very likely, and if it ever does, it would be long after we are dead.

As a point of reference, WWII era bikes are worth a lot. They have the advantage of being not only being old, but also not having been produced in such massive quantities as Evo's.

Bikes are made to be ridden. Ride it and enjoy it like it was intended.

The only EVO that will be collectable in the near future is the Heritage springer...not unusual to see them sell for double "book" value now.

As for a 94 FLHR gaining value..... No. It'll hold it's value, but I seriously doubt it will gain any value of significance.
