These are mass produced bikes that were produced at the pinnacle of mass manufacturing. A springer model has a slightly better chance of retaining more value, but an increase in value is not very likely, and if it ever does, it would be long after we are dead.
As a point of reference, WWII era bikes are worth a lot. They have the advantage of being not only being old, but also not having been produced in such massive quantities as Evo's.
Bikes are made to be ridden. Ride it and enjoy it like it was intended.

The only EVO that will be collectable in the near future is the Heritage springer...not unusual to see them sell for double "book" value now.
