Default removing passenger grab rail

does anyone know of a kit that eliminates the passenger grab rail on a 92 electra glide? the rail is bolted to the bottom of the seat then bolt to the tour pack mount, holding the back half of the seat to the actual bike, so it's not as simple as lets just remove it, because without it the seat is not attached to the bike

I've had my '90 from new and don't recall ever seeing any alternative kit to the stock rail. You may have to get inventive and create something yourself.

I've wondered the same thing. One of my "someday" protects is to fit some 2014+ "one touch" style bags, but I don't think the lids will clear that rail.

I figure on fitting the bags first. If there is interference, a bit of cutting/grinding/welding and a trip to the platers will be next.

I've actually adapted mine so I can fit a later fender, which is a different shape, also Police bags from a twincam, so the lids will open. I did that by heating and bending the grab-handles, the heat affected zone being out of sight. Sometimes it's quicker and simpler to get on with it ourselves!

Mustang Seats offers a bracket that may work, or at least give you an idea for fabrication.

take the seat off, and cut the grab handle off the mounting bracket.

Well done, that looks just like the stock bracket less handles and is remarkably cheap.
