Those oil spots remind me of when I was in high school. We used to cruise Main Street (Ventura Ca.) and the Harley shop was at one end. We'd park on the street get out and peer in through the windows at the bikes in the small showroom. There were only a couple back then, two or three as I recollect. I seem to recall one or two marking their place, seen in the streetlight glow, on the black-and-white checkered linoleum floor. This was circa 1970.

Good luck with your project. Looks like it's in basically decent shape. Ride easy.

Most of the dealerships I've been to have a TSA style checkpoint that won't allow any bike older than 10 years on the property.....

Good find, and I know that you stole it...

Curious as to why you aren't replacing the radio with a more modern setup?

Actually the spots are from the carb cleaner my son did a little quick clean with. Before he fired it off.

Pretty much how it works. Right now I'm going to go simple - all the CB and associated harness is going away, as is audio to the rear. I may consider upgrades later but for now it's clean it up and do away with the non-essential. I'll keep all the harnesses just in case. Son said it had service history in the TourPak.

Understood.

When I ordered my 1993 FLHS (Sept 1992), I thought: 'What the hell do I need a radio for????' Then I took my first trip from Michigan to Florida. Thought the same about electronic cruise control (in 2005 I installed one)

Nice that it had the service history. Should fill in a few blank spots, as you never know what's been done to an older bike.

Not full history but enough recent to reduce immediate inspection on a few areas.

Nice find. That'll be a lot of fun when you get back on the road. Enjoy.
