Default Ultima 127 questions

recently purchased an Ultima 127, and dropped it in a custom soft tail frame. Problems is, dont know much about annual checks(oil filters, spark plugs, oil, etc.)
I looked on the internet and cant seem to find cross references for harley evo motors..
Anyone have any input?

Thanks

Not sure what you are asking.
Change the oil every 5k according to the manual and 2.5k if you want to be safe.
Change the oil filter when you change the oil.
NGK iridium plugs will last way longer than a year.

Pointed my Google at "ultima harley motor". Found this is two clicks:

Why do you hate synthetic oil?

NGK BPR6ES

Not a synthetic oil fan either but those things are heat monsters in the Summer time especially if it doesn't have a oil cooler, I run Redline Synthetic in mine only because heat can break oil down quicker.

Wink

I'm also not a synth fan and don't believe in using the stuff unnecessarily. I have an S&S engine and they recommend using synth, so that is what I do. It is increasingly used in modern vehicles of all types, so it shouldn't be any surprise that it is becoming the oil of choice with some brands! I use good old dyno oil in both Buell and Sporty, also my Evo trans and primary.

That 127" is a brute of an engine, so don't cut ANY corners! My reading of the link Schex gave is that Ultima recommend using synth, so that's that! They specify an SJ spec oil for break-in and I'm surprised they don't either repeat that for the synth, or recommend another spec. However as most motor oils are compliant with API specs of some sort, I reckon an SJ spec synth will do just fine.
