Default Where have the evo's gone

Having had a couple of evo's before I got my twin cam I thought I might find one just to have. Looking at craigslist they seem to have gone the way of the shovels after the evo's came out, as in they just disappeared. I know a lot of shovels went over seas and I'm thinking this may be the case here. I'd like to find a wide glide worth the money. I've found some deals on the twin cam wide glides but I'd rather have a evo to play with. I'd hate to see these bikes gone forever.

maybe their waiting to list them until spring fever hits...right now it's cold out an bike prices are down....in a few weeks people will have their tax refunds an the urge to get a bike an that might mean a few more bucks on the sale....

but I'm afraid the case is evo prices are so deflated an the bike market so flooded people are opting to hang on to the evo even if they get a new/newer bike because they're not satisfied with what they could sell it for.

Wink

When Mrs B and I visited the US in 2003, with our bike, we met several locals during our travels who had Harleys tucked away. One chap told us he had painted his about ten years ago and hoped the paint was dry by now, so he could rebuild it! I suspect many older bikes reach that point in their life when they are so tired they get put away for a while, hence disappear. Many Evos have probably gone the same way as pans, ironheads, shovels etc. We also have to bear in mind they were only made in very small numbers, compared with recent twincams, so they were never very numerous.

We're still here, but we're holding on because prices are down, easy to work on and newer isn't always better.

It isn't nearly as easy as finding a good deal on a twinkie but they are out there.

It took me six months to find two that i was willing to purchase.

Try finding a yamaha xt250 or an old xl enduro at a good price......... i've been looking over 18 months.

My 97 EG sets right beside my 08 UC. It took me a good while to find the EVO and I gave a good price for it being something of a project bike.

It did turn out to be quite a project but it's fixed and running fine now.

There were over a million Evo powered bikes made during the production run. Not what I consider "small numbers".
