Piston Ring Compression Tool

I was just curious to which type of piston ring compression tool everyone uses on their Harley. I've been using one from Lisle that I've had for many years now. However, it has seen better days and is just about wore out now. Besides, I cannot seem to find the exact same one I have for a replacement.....

Any recommendations or suggestions......part numbers and/or pictures with a description would be great.

I have one I bought at an auto parts store. Either NAPA or O'Reilley's. Can't remember the brand, sorry. I used to just push the rings in with a screwdriver while my "assistant" held the jug, but the last time I went all fancy and bought an official ring compressor that comes apart. I'll see if I can find a name/number on it.

I been using one from my father, it's the old standard band type andthis thing is older than I am.
My piston installing procedure is different from the manual. I install piston into jug, take it over to the bike, slide the piston down over the rod, install wrist pin and clip, slide down the cyclinder.

have used my hands and a giant $2 jubilee clip / hose clip from the local DIY store, both with success over the years.

That's the way to do it.Quick and easy.

I use one from Matco (MST75). It has different size bands for different bores. It uses pliers to squeeze the bands, then the band comes loose from the pliers so if you put the piston on the rod first then you can load it in the jug from the bottom and still get the band off the rod.

I ended up getting another one from Lisle. Not like the one I did use.....but I think this one will work. It is the take-apart style so it won't get caught on the connecting rod.

I use the finger ends of a clothes pin,set the cylinder on top of the piston and work my way down.Like Leaddoggy.Make sure you ck. your end gaps.

I've used Zip tie's before to install them but now I just use one that I bought from Checker Auto.
