Default 1991 FXR Evo breather(s)

I've just fitted an Andrews EV27 and an S &amp\\; S super E carb to a 1991 FXR Evo engine. Its fitted with a crankcase breather and when I mounted the carb I noticed the heads are tapped for head breather(s) as well (fitted with solid bolts). Question is can I fit two breathers or connect the crankcase &amp\\; head breather to one filter or plumb both or none (seperate remote filter) to the air filter housing ? Would two breathers be overkill ?

You can't have too much breather for the crankcase.
&nbsp\\;
Either one or both, you'll be good to go. Whatever works and looks best for you. Just don't plug them both

91s don't vent through the heads, that's why your bolts weren't&nbsp\\;drilled through.&nbsp\\;just use the crank vent and install a one way valve. This will reduce crank case pressure and prevent blow by.

Andre,
&nbsp\\;
Responded to your&nbsp\\;e-mail. If you do not understand&nbsp\\;just get back to me with the specifics and I'll try to help. I was quite surprised to see that you installed the package so quickly, Good Job !! BTW, Did you swap the ignition module out?

I didn't think 91's came with breather holes in the heads. I thought those heads started in 92 with bottom breather&nbsp\\; but no provision for breathing. On mine i have a screaming eagle breather bar between the bolt holes and run it back to the carb. I had a problem with alot of my oil coming back out through the carb. I needed rocker gaskets and the umbrella valve came with so i put them in and my oil consumption went down and no more oil down the side of my bike.&nbsp\\;I would check and see what part numbers those heads are and see if someone changed them out to a newer set. Just out of curiousity. Kent
