Hi!
pococj, Locutions
what it marks word: "race", about which you write???
I think you mean the race. The seal is on the outside and is easily replaced.
My technical English is not good...

Have You on thought "bearing race"???

Yes, we mean the bearing race that is pressed into the case.

Mr. Jaro, the race is the metal sleeve that is cast into the case half, through which the shaft extends out into the primary.

I just went through this with my 89 evo, just a few months ago.

I had just had the entire engine rebuilt, top and bottom.

site is goofy. have to post several times.

Then:

Oil leaked into the primary from the engine. I'm running a belt, so it was a big mess. I had them pull the primary and replace the seal and look for cracks. After they finished, still leaking badly. I found out those years of HD cases had a lot of problems with the races in the case halves. I took it back and they pulled the primary, and this time started the engine and ran it until it got hot, then took a bar and pryed very slightly on the race. It leaked between the race and the aluminum in the case.

You have excessive crankcase pressure.Check all your vent lines.Doubt the vent valve could have skipped a tooth or two.&nbsp\\;

It is also possible that the retaining bolts screws for the regulator harness are leaking .MIne is a 87 and went through the whole seal and etc leak . Someone previously had removed the plastic retainer for harness and siliconed the holes closed , well after a while it leaked . Pain in the *** to find . Only located with engine oil dye . Good luck

You won't find an OEM part number for the race, I don't think. It is part of the case half. It is cast in the case when the case is built. The race is not a separate OEM part.

You CAN replace the individual left crank bearing parts BUT it's a pain to do and set up correctly. Best deal is the pre-loaded bearing from Timken for about 30 bucks. Has all the right matched parts including correct pre-load spacer.
&nbsp\\;
Hope you got the oil leak found.... went through all that myself, first engine oil into the primary then later it was going the other way
