Replacing Circuit Breaker With Fuse. Is it Okay ?
hi.
- the 30 amp circuit breaker on my 1996 FLSTC
has broken (as I was removing the nuts on the two
posts , the posts turned in the plastic base ...)
- but the bike still works but the breaker is becoming
a source of resistance (ie , horn is weak , but when I
short the breaker , the horn is back to normal).
- so , being as its difficult for me to get a replacement
breaker from where I am at , can the breaker be
replaced with a plain 30 amp auto fuse ?
- did a search first but couldn't find anything on this.
thanks in advance !

I agree with pajoe.....try autozone or pep bpoys or napa for a circuit breaker. Somewhere around 10 bucks. With the breaker, if it trips, it will reset itself and yo keep riding. If it's the fuse, you gotta stop and go under the seat and replace the fuse, assuming you have a spare. Circuit breaker is way better.
