How much would you be asking for it?

I don't need it but if the price is good I could be persuaded.

I DO need the seat. I have an 85 FXWG that I've had since new. Needs the seat.
How much?

Angry 85 FXWG wont start just clicks

I hope someone on here might be able to help me figure this out. I replaced the starter solenoid with new. Because I was told to when the bike would just click when I tried to start it. Tried to start again and same thing. I replaced the starter relay. Tried to start and same thing. I have a fresh charge on the battery. It tests out fine. Will not engage the starter no matter what I've tried. Anybody got any ideas? I'm fresh out. thanks for the help

First welcome to the Forum.
Second it is always best to start a new thread for a new problem.
Third what voltage do you get at the starter when you hit the start button?

The possibility exists that you have what's called the "Dreaded Click" but more testing is needed to be sure.

Starter thumb switch contacts, or ground issue.

I always like running across another '84-'86 FX EVO with 4-speed. There just aren't many of them around.
Yeah they are great bikes and not many around these parts, maybe one or two in the last five years......

Make sure there is a good connection at the starter motor. Maybe the starter is done....check,clean tighten. Try jumping with screw driver at solenoid...

Default Mystery Part

My buddy bought an 85 FXWG and dropped it off at my house to work on. I have primarily worked on my 94 and 99 softtails. I got the running and rolling around town. But I still don't know what this is for. All three wires are cut (two large and 1 small). It's underneath the bike. What is it and is it needed?1985 FXWG Stock Photos-thumbnailnn.jpg

Second it's always best to start a new thread for a new question
Third whatever it is if the bike starts and runs fine and everything works I'd say it isn't needed.

Talk about a final jeopardy question. If you take off the boot, it's the starter relay. You will need it if you want to use the electric leg, or rewire to the '86 style starter sytem with the smaller relay. I agree with THC, it's better to start a new topic.--------------------------------RJ
