The species of this would be the Largemouth Bass, and specifically, the Florida Largemouth Bass.

Fishing to me has always been long periods of boredom inter spaced with short periods of excitement.JMO

Bass isn't the greatest tasting fish in the water, and if you kill all of your big breeder females you won't have anymore fish to catch for much longer anyways. I only keep just over minimum fish if I do keep any... for example, speckled trout in Texas are 15-25, I won't keep one much over 18". It's all about conservation for me. Nothing pisses me off more than seeing a bunch of stupid rednecks keeping whatever they can stick a hook in. Also, if you learn how to fish it will be excitement the whole time.
