Pulleys
I'm serious... swap out your pulleys to get a little more stretch out of each gear; the only issue is I don't remember what sizes you'll need, so you'll have to research that a little bit. On top of it, have your heads cleaned up by a good indy, and put in a good bolt in cam. Should have no problem keeping up with the twinkies and maybe walking away from them.

It does occasionally! My sister got punted off the road while living there in a snow storm, by someone who was trying to get home before the snow got too bad! Two written off cars.
