if I read this right you started it then adjusted the push rods now it won't start , I vote check the push rods again , the rest of the stuff you did in the mean time I don't think would have made a difference and setting for a week is nothing ' and all so a loose push rod will mess you up to

Adjusting the pushrods on an engine with hydraulic lifters won`t hurt a thing, other than your fingers.

Solid lifters must be adjusted cold.
