It's happened to me sooner or later with almost every carb I've had on a bike. Something will get caught and keep the float needle from closing properly, Another thing to check is the condition of the wire loop that connects the float needle to the float tab. Somtimes the ends of the wire loop can spread and catch on the float tab, causing the float needle to hang.

Thank you so much for this thread all! Went for a ride and got home and parked my bike and after and hour got the strong smell of gas when I went back out to the garage. Noticed a constant drip under my bike coming from the carb overflow pipe from my S&S Super E Carb. Searched here and found this post. Tried the turn the peacock off and ran the bike until it sputtered out. Tried to start it once more just to make sure all the fuel was out of the float bowl. Turned the peacock back on and then ran the bike for another few min and checked for leaks. shut down the bike and still no more drip from the overflow pipe.
Thank you all so much for your input!
