Default 96 Electraglide Fork Seals

My left fork seal is beginning to leak. I installed new seals a when I bought the bike because the left one was leaking. Then again 3 years ago for the left one. Now the left one again. Each time, the fork oil in the right side was nice and clean and still red. The left side oil was black as cole. Same thing this time. There is no damage to the tube or sliders. Anyone else have this issue? What to do about it other than replacing the forks? Seems to me that seals should last longer than 3 years and what in the world is causing the fork oil to turn black....

Just a guess Maybe it's the bushings on the left slider tube rubbing against the aluminum in the bottom slider and why the left side only ??

Had similiar troubles with my 90 fxrs, only the right fork. Swore up and down no nicks in the tubes. the last time two weeks ago took a real close look and sure enough, 3 nicks in the fork tube. Used a dremel to smooth them out, 300 miles and no leaks yet. Hope ta hell I don't have to buy new tubes. Have no idea where the nicks came from??!!! Aside from that, the oil got on my brake pads which turned out to be pretty hairy. Happened during the flood run, hope I didn't tick someone off.
