Default 97 Ultra Charging System Recommendation

Looks like my rotor shucked a magnet. These things apparently have a 45a system from the factory but the price is way outta hand. Would a 38a system take care of the basics? Any recommendations and opinions would be welcomed.

If the bike still has the EFI.....then go with the 45. The carbed. and EFI versions use the same stator, but a different rotor. It really just depends on if the bike is EFI or not.

It's carbed.
Without overkill, what would be a good charging system?

32 amp stator will serve your bike well. Doesn't look like you have a bunch of lights or anything to power.

The Ultra I am trying to get info about has a few more lights than the FXR in my signature picture.

I would probably go with the 38 just to be on the safe side. The 32 would probably be ok....but if you can get the 38 or 45 for not much more cash....then go for it.

I know you weren't asking for brands....but I would not consider Accel at all. Their products have lost quality lately. I personally recommend the factory HD version or cycle electric. I definatley would not go with some off brand that you never heard of.

Thanks for the info. I'm leaning towards a 3-phase system or the Cycle Electric 38amp. Still narrowing it down.
