Default Too many miles on a '93??

I just got a deal on a 93 Low Rider with 75k on the odometer. I could probably land it for right around 4k. My question is, would that amount of mileage scare you guys away from that deal? What should I look for when I see the bike in person? I've been riding a TC96 for the last 5 years, not too sure what to expect with an older evo.
Thanks

You can get a bunch of miles out of an EVO ... don't let 75,000 scare you. The condition of the bike will tell you a lot about how the bike has been taken care. It was common for them to have cylinder base gaskets "seep" then finally leak but that is a relatively qiuck and easy fix. Do a thorough inspection of the bike before you buy and if everything looks good ... then plop your dollars down. Good Luck Brother.

I know a guy who had close to 150k on his. He told he was selling it before something major happens to it,the motor was never opened. He sold it for $7,000 to a guy who has been riding it everyday since. He came to my local indy for service,we checked the speedo for miles. It was right at 174k. The guy says it still runs like new,he just put a set of lifters in,since it was becoming noisy. Don't worry about the miles,as long as it was taken care of.

If it's the FXR low rider in decent condition I'd go for it. If it's a Dyna I'd look for a better deal.

If nothing has been done to the motor since new, then you got a good one. Maybe have it checked out, but my guess is that you got a gem!! Happens now and again from time to time.

75 k isn't bad especially for 4 k, I always look at a deal as in if I get a good price it gives me room to invest a bit.

I don't think theres a thing wrong with buying a well kept high mileage motorcycle as long as you get it cheap. That way if it does need work down the road, your still on the low side money wise. That being said, there are an awful lot of the same year Evo for not much more money with less than half the miles. Maybe just keep looking at others till you pull the trigger.

If it's a 93, it's gotta be an FXR. Buy it...

(Evo's are some of the easiest bikes to work on too.)

Why buy a bike that has had all the trouble-free miles already run out? Unless you want a project.

Buy a low-mileage creampuff.

My buddy's Evo has 221K miles, top-end was done at 187k. Also a few weeks ago a guy I meet on a ride had over 200k on his without doing anything yet. I always figured when time was up with my black-girl, I would just go with factory Harley overhaul R&R program. You get your motor back all ready for another 100-200k!
I sure wouldn't worry about 75k, if all looks good!
I sold my Springer with almost 60K and I thought it was like new! The buyer is still riding it today, still no problems I ever heard of.
Oil changes are the key to longevity.
