I have a 98 heritage, V&H longshots, SE Air Cleaner and ignition.. It been recently dyno'd. Runs smooth.
Could use more gitty-up though. Tops out around 80-85 mph. Looking for suggestions for the best hop-ups moving forward? My wrench wants to go w/ a S&S Super E, tunable ignition and removle of most of the baffle in exhaust. He wants me to ride it after his ideas than talk cams.

thoughts?

Seems a bit slow to me. how many miles on the motor? Have you done a compression check? The book says anything over 90 PSI hot is okay, but I disagree. A good Evo with stock cam should produce 140-150 PSI hot. If your compression is low, you might want to consider freshening the top end before you think about cams.

Check to see if you are getting full throttle. We've had more than a couple of bikes in with the complaint "It doesn't run as fast as my buddies" and found out they weren't getting full throttle, Easy fix!!!

My 98 RK will do 80 in 4th and it's stock. My buddy has a 2003 Heritage springer, was doing 108 this summer and I was staying right with him. Something doesn't sound right.....sure your speedo is correct?

Just check that you're getting full throw on the carb's throttle valve! (i.e., Stop to stop as you open and close the hand throttle.)
