I have a 1988 fxr frame and was offered a 2011 street glide 110 motor and trans. Will this set up bolt into the fxr? Has anyone done something similar?
Thanks
nothings impossible but i cant imagine it would be either straight forward or cheap to do, i know S&S make a bracket to convert a twinkie rear motor mount to a evo style mount, no idea on the gear box though, cant see how that could be made to fit without some major surgery.
With all the fabrication you would probably be better off with a whole new frame-just a guess. FYI-you can expect the heads to leak on the 110 from what I understand. Harley hasn't been able the problem without it reacurring I have heard......just my two cents, hope it helps....
I just did a short search on Ebay.Theres a company called Pinwall cycle that sells used parts. Here's a part number to look at:200577538270.Just an option to think about.....newer style frame??

You should put the 110 motor and tranny in another Street Glide.
Oh yeah...you should then sell me the '88 FXR frame right away.

That bracket will work with TC88s, which have external oil pipes, but not on TC96s and bigger as they have internal oilways, no pipes. I've already looked into it myself!
Fitting a 110 is almost too tempting, but those front engine mounts will be a challenge to sort out. If you can get that engine and your bike in the same place, so you can compare them, it will become clearer. S&S make a 111" that will bolt in!
