Unhappy Still trying to solve 85 FLT oil line problem

I bought the bike with a damaged front end. It was delivered on a skid , it started fine, oil pressure came up. Replaced the air ride front end, came time to take it off the skid. It had boards shimmed up underneath it so to get it off the skid I had to tap the boards out. Got the front wheel on the ground and them noticed that the hose that runs next to the oil pump (from the crankcase, then goes over the engine, between the barrels and down under the engine and the inner primary cover) was off and oil was coming out. Now I know someone will say go to the manual diagrams. I have three diagrams. One shows me that it is a square oil tank, but this one is a V shape under the side cover. Another diagram shows it's a dead line and should be plugged. Another says it is a return, but my issue is that all the diagrams eliminate the oil filter.. So if anyone has this bike and can check the routing of this oil line please let me know where it goes.. I don't have a table or jacks to lift this bike high enough to check under it better, tried the mirror, still can't see anything!

i think that model has a self-oiling primary, check and see if you have a line running in and out of the inter primary at the bottom between engine and trans

There is no hose that runs over the engine, between the cylinders and down under the engine.

There is a hose that runs from the engine block at the back medial to and below, I think, the oil pump to (originally) the air cleaner. Most people re-route that down under the bike, but not through the cylinder V. Oil will come out of that if the bike has sat for a while. Some do it more than others. You need a proper oil line diagram for a "bottom breather" bike.

Late '84-up did not have a dry primary, so no oil feed to the primary.

it may be the beathing line, the older models, if they set up a while, will blow oil though that line when you frist start them up

there's an oil line diagram on the inside of the cover that goes over the oil tank. it sounds like the breather hose to me. where is the hose in question attached to the motor?

Maybe this will help. The oil filter is shown as a dotted line behind engine.
