Default eliminating the air ride in the front forks

I've tried searching this, I wanna stiffen the front of the bike up, and am considering a new spring and thinking of doing away with the air ride, anyone else try or do this ? Thanks chad

Easiest thing to do is just take all the "air ride" stuff off. I Have a 91 FLHS, I bought a complete set of fork tubes, assembled. They came with new seals and all, just reused my lowers. I spent less than $130.00 total including fork oil. Love the way the front end feels now. crisp, and firm!

I installed Progressive springs w/Ricor Intiminators and just made sure there was no air in the forks. Stiffened the front end up considerably; much better handling.

I did my forks on my 1994 FLHTCU 2 months ago. Here is the link on how to do it CORRECTLY! Progressive springs are supposed to be a "one size fits all" deal. There is no such thing! Call Race Tech suspension and they will give you the CORRECT spring rate for the type of riding you do and the weight of the bike.

My bike rides so much different that its like being on a different bike!

I just got my bike back from getting the air removed, I put 2009 touring springs(ricor recommended) and ricor iniminators and the front end is amazing now compared to before.

I bought a set from BK rider from ebay. 24 1/4 long, all 41 MM tubes 84 up are the same with the exception of some of the newer stuff. By the time I bought springs, seals, and all the little stuff to rebuild them and do away with the air, it made more sense.
