I choose the EV27 simply because so many on this board loved it. My deal was this... there is a known problem with the Evo cam bearing. It has a long history of failing between 30-50k. Well, if I have to have a shop pull the cone and remove the cam anyways, why not spend a few extra bucks and put a better than stock cam in. The EV27 seems to pull hard and it works excellent with my basic stage one setup. With just those mods I can run with a 1200 Sporty and stock twin cams. I got a used one so I didn't even have to lay out the $125 for a new one. I'm pretty happy.

Thanks everyone!!! I have heard the ev-27 was a good overall cam. I bought a while back a Crane 316-2 cam. It is a .490 lift and all the other specs are relatively close to those on the ev-27. I also have crane fully adjustable pushrods to simplify the install, just got to have it done and have the carb installed and tuned with the cam.
Again, thanks to all who responded!!!
