I just got a set of Pirelli Night Dragons both front and rear from Denniskirk for my 05 fat boy for $230 shipped to my door. These tires are so much better then the Dunlops that used to be on my bike

By looking at the Dunlop site a D404 130-90/16 rear is rated 67H. Or 677 lbs. Where the D402 MT90/16 rear is 74H. Or 827 lbs.
Just saying.
Good luck.

I've been happy with the Dunlop American Elite. Better than the D402.

I would recheck your alignment.
The 140 will fit but you will have to trim the belt guard to get it to not scrape.

It shouldn't touch your belt at all and if it didn't before you realigned it then you aligned it wrong.

Excellent tires! They handle the rain so much better than my stock DLops ever did.

I rode it with it off a little bit. Crashed July last year(my fault), Fender ready to re-install. Now I aligned it beforehand, but belt hitting side of tire (I loosened belt guard). Gonna say fukkit & change tire. PISSES me off. This one looks good.

I'm needing a new rear tire myself. Not a softtail, though, but same tire size.

I'm looking at:
$139 Pirelli Night Dragon https://www.denniskirk.com/pirelli/r...prd/543463.sku
$110 Avon Cobra https://www.denniskirk.com/avon/rear...prd/544091.sku (Doesn't Tups recommend Avons?)
$122 Metzler ME888 https://www.denniskirk.com/metzeler/...prd/544287.sku
$76 Pirelli MT66 https://www.denniskirk.com/pirelli/r...prd/652072.sku

For the money, that $76 Pirelli MT66 looks pretty good. Otherwise, I'm leaning (ha, a pun) towards the ME888 or that Avon Cobra. I have a Dunlop 402 on there now. I was looking at my log, and I usually get 7K miles out of a typical rear tire. The Dunlop 402's have been lasting me 10-15K miles.
