Hi there. My name is Steve and I just joined the forum. I recently aquired a '93 Fatboy for $4600. The bike has been dropped at one time and had the candy apple red and ghost flames covered up by bondo (on the left tank)and flat black paint on the tins. Also the inner primary has been welded at one time around the stator area around one of the dog ear? The bike also has had money dumped into it as well. It has the Crane Fireball Hi-4E model 8-3100 adjustable ignition, S&S Super E with a Thunderjet installed, Dakota digital instrument cluster between the tanks, and Jims tappet blocks installed. Besides that the rest is unknown along with the mileage. The guy I bought it off couldnt tell me anything about the bike. Im not a complete newb as I once had a '98 Sportster that I put many miles on. I know about the stage 1 mods as I done them on my Sporty. Im just new to bigtwins and S&S carbs. I didnt know what a ThunderJet was until yesterday as Im used to the CV carbs. The bike runs great for the most part. I have had to change the plugs once due to carbon built up but I think its due to overusing the choke on the S&S and not being used to it. If it has Jims tappet blocks do you think its probably had tappets and lifters replaced as well? I dont know what cam is in it or if its been switched out. Thanks for any responses

 

Here is a picture of my $4600 beater Fatboy. This is after I redone the tank. Im no bondo guy but did a hell of alot better than whoever before me. I repainted tank flatblack until I can get it painted
