Guy pulled up next to me this week with an early 80s Sportster that had the factory fat bob style gas tank on it, bone stock except for some slip-on mufflers. Didn't get a chance to ask him the mileage. A casual friend of mine still has his '84 FLH with the shovelhead engine, basically bone stock and the last of the shovel's.

I just enjoy seeing them that haven't been all hacked up over the years or been spray bombed with krylon!

 

My Uncle still rides his '84 FXSB. I think it has over 300k total miles and he's had the motor rebuilt 3 times that I know about, probably more. It's still his daily rider.

 

Yeah, I've got one of those '85 FXRC's. Only 1085 made. Still have all the stock parts, but have changed it up a little. Wouldn't part with it for the world. Great Bike!

I have just purchased (1 month ago) an '86 FLHTC Limited edition Electra Glide Custom, #86/650
Bone stock with the exception of some chrome surrounds on the headlight and spotlights, and a Live to Ride AC cover.
Just hit 41K yesterday.

My kid brother has an '82 FLHC. Belt drive, chain primary, dry clutch. It's a Shovel that's seen it's share of the wrench's place. He loves it and would never part with it. It has somewhere around 50k on it but not exact since speedo cables break regularly on it.

 

I'm still riding my 1985&nbsp\\;FXRC . Great bike.&nbsp\\; Started making a chattering noise behind the primary case. Think it must be the drive belt (the drive belt is 23 years old)&nbsp\\; Any other ideas?

I have an 85fxwg. I would pull the outer primary and take a look. Is the primary chain tight?

 

i got a 84 FLHTC i got last july

&nbsp\\;all stock but for some fish tails i
&nbsp\\;put on , luv it and wife tells me
&nbsp\\;i cant sell no matter what

 

I have an '82 FXE.&nbsp\\; Bone stock and original except for the pipes.&nbsp\\; Bought it off ebay last year with 16,000 miles on it.&nbsp\\; I've put on 8000 more trouble-free, grinnin' miles since.&nbsp\\; Awesome bike!&nbsp\\; There was a totally stock '84 FLHS on ebay a while back that didn't sell and is still available.&nbsp\\; Shovel motor, 4 speed, wet primary.&nbsp\\; Started to buy it, but I can't tolerate the forward controls with my 60 year old back.&nbsp\\;
