Default Weber Dual Throat Opinions

I was checking out this carb and wanted to get some pro's and con's on it.
Thanks for any input!

They can be difficult to tune because they are so tunable. Work best on big bore motors.

Describe your engine: Displacement, compression, headwork, cams - most likely, the CV is all you really need.

They look really, really cool. Other than that, a CV or S&S is probably a better carb for the typical motor. The something like 13 independent adjustments can be a bit daunting for the casual carb tuner. Did I mention they look cool?

Thanks for the input so far!
It's a stock Evo motor with a Woods W6 cam, Screaming Eagle pushrods, and HSR 42 Mikuni. Weber claims it will work with a stock motor......

Sure it will work with a stock motor. After about $1000 worth of tuning. And did I mention that you'll need a 3PSI fuel pump? And that they look cool?

Talking

So a 1,000.00 for the Weber, and another 1,000.00 for the labor as opposed to going with a 7,999.00 Thomson Supercharger. Hell, that would still put 6,000.00 worth of beer money back in my pocket!!!!

You've already got an HSR42? Is the proposed change simply for aesthetics, or is there something you want to change about how the bike runs?

You've been given some good advice - the CV is the best all around carb and will easily support 100HP engines. You don't need more carb until you get into much larger displacements and performance mods.

Yes, there is some great advice given on the subject and thank you everyone. The answer to your question is looks and performance.

if you could ride at the same altitude every day with the exact same corrected altitude they were the $hit, but I sold mine in the mid 80s becuase it was like trying to maintain the space shuttle-------------looked killer though
