Default Engine Rebuild Advice

So I have a 1992 Evo motor I am slowly rebuilding. Thus far I have had the cylinders bored .030 over and bought KB pistons with Hastings rings, the heads valves and seats were polished and installed new seals, the bike came with Screamin Eagle intake and exhaust that I will use for now, however, I installed a Boyesen twin shot on the carb and added easy adjust screws on the idle and the fuel mixture side, the bottom end will have an Andrews Ev27 cam with a new cam bushing and seal kit as well, a steel breather valve, a Torrington bearing, Crane adj. pushrods and tappet roller wheels, and all new Cometic gaskets. I also rebuilt the clutch and replaced the compensator sprocket spring, as well as every gasket and o-ring in the inner primary, as well as the inner primary to engine o-ring. From what most are saying I should have myself a pretty nice little scooter when its done, I'm just curious if anyone has any advice, input, or if I could/should install something else to get a little more out of her. I'm on a nickel and dime budget, that's why so lengthy, but I'll get there. The bike only has 25,000 miles, but the base gasket was leaking. So, what do you think? And I know this isn't going to be a 100hp motor so be nice. Thanks, Glenn

Andrews recommends that you use 9.5 - 1 pistons with the EV 27.

What is the compression ratio on the pistons you already have?

Looks to me like you got it pretty much covered.

Glenn, wise choice! You'll make a great Harley owner......

Just carry on the way you are. Fresh gaskets plus your cam and pistons should give you a great bike. We'll happily help you spend any spare cash you have!

Only change I'd make is next time I'd bore the cylinders, not the heads.

Can't figure out why all that needed to be done at 25,000 miles unless that bike had been horribly abused. Evos run a lot longer than that in my experience. I have 91,000 on my current top end.

Why did you go to max oversize on such a low mileage motor?

Max oversize on the cylinders? I can still go .040, get a 85" kit or resleave them no? Plus I'm 26 and all my friends have new bikes while I'm on a 92 carbureted.... And hell I can get stock 1340 cylinders a dime a dozen on Craigslist.

Just wondered......forget the 85 kit, its a total scam and won't give you anything in exchange for your hard earned dollars. Your mates may have new bikes but you have the cool bike....ain't nothing wrong with a 92 Carby....as they will all find out!
