Front Wheel Bearings '96 RK

I have never had one of these stone age wheels with tapered roller bearings but had many cars with them. My 69 Pontiac manual says to always leave .001 minimum clearance to ensure grease is not squeezed out. My 75 Ford manual calls for a pre-loaded bearing. I have always been a believer in the .001 clearance. However .018 seem to be to be a bit excessive. Does anyone out there run them this loose?

Spanners, there is a stack of simple stuff in the manual which will help anyone contemplating doing any work on their bike. There is little point every contributor trying to write out a step by step guide, when it has already been done. By all means add any additional helpful tips, not already covered!

I think the term may be more loosely and properly described as 'Put feet to your prayers' the manual thing is more a protection for people on here trying to help others..sometime you get the since that telling some people on here to check their tire pressure means they are going to blow it off the rim....and blame you for doing it.
