Is it worth new rings and a quick rub with a ball hone at that sort of mileage?
I've to to do my base gaskets at some point, so making up a shopping list. (EV27, Torr'n bearing, lifters??, Cometic gaskets on the list so far)
Mine's got 50,000km from new, which I think is about 30,000 miles.
Anything else peculiar to Evos to look out for whilst I am fondling its innards?

30K miles is bugger all when you consider Kees had 100,000 miles on stock bores...granted it was worn out but it was still running!
Evo innards are no more peculiar than any other Harley and a lot less weird than an Ironhead.....double check the ign timing when it goes back together....two dots is the California 22 degree timing mark, one dot is the real world and it runs a heap better timed to this mark.

I'm getting new pistons for the bump in compression.
That way if I don't like it for any reason then I can go back to stock.

Sorry, a little off track, but what saddlebags are those? Been looking to replace my old saggy stock bags but cant really find any nice ones.
