1998 Dyna front isolator mount repair
Thought I'd post this up for anyone having the severe vibrations I was dealing with. To describe it anything below 2200 rpms was bone rattling so deceleration was only able to be done with the clutch in and idling. Going around a corner decelerating felt like the bike was going down.
I was given the opportunity to try out the Vibra-technics Predator Mount for the Evo Dyna and gladly accepted as you can see by looking at my front mount, it was badly worn. I tried to shim it, it didn't change the performance.
I'll give you a step by step install with a couple pics, it was very easy.
Center the bike upright, I supported the bike from the garage rafters straight up and down.
Place a auto jack under the engine with a wooden block, slightly jack to remove pressure from the front mount.
Here's where I should have removed the oil filter, but I just changed it a few days ago so I left it on, would have saved me some time if I removed it to get better access to the bolts
I removed the front mount completely, two top bolts and the two front bolts, rocked it sideways and dropped it out from the bottom.
Slightly raised engine to the proper height, Predator mount slides in from the top.
Locite on the bolts to the engine, torque to 27 ft lbs.
Installed the front bolts and torqued to 27 ft lbs.
Lowered jack to put the weight back on the mount and gave the center bolt a torque of 47 ft lbs.
Done. Couldn't have been easier. It idles with less shake and runs much smoother. Cornering has no wobble/shake. I have a slight buzz at exactly 2000 rpms that goes to the foot pegs, but it's 100% smooth down to idle and smooth to redline. I can chug along at 1500 rpms with no shake, before it was like riding over a railroad track. I've seen others complain about being able to see out their mirrors, I was able to do that even at idle and at 2000 rpms.
I'd say this was exactly what my bike needed, very happy with the results. The total installation time was only 30 minutes.

I'd recommend it, not sure when the final product will be out. Cornering was a big change for me I'm not sure it the stabilizer that's built in helps or if it was the mount in general. I spent all my riding time on dirt and sport bikes, it doesn't corner like a gixxer but it's straight and steady now!

your old mount did not appear to have torn from the metal

From the pics you provided it does not appear that the od mount had separated from the metal. Mine look like the rubber is torn when I replace mine. If it works I will look into it but I was sold on the Sputhe system.

Similar to sputhe it has the stabilizer built into it but it completely replaces the front mount and isolator in one piece. The stabilizer link kid hidden in the back of the unit you can only see it from looking underneath. 9th pic shows it. Can get better pics taken if needed. It was dark in the garage.

That stabilizer link looks like an adaptation of the True-Track Dyna system. I installed one on my FXDXT and it transformed the ride. Do Predator have plans for a stabilized rear mount? That would complete the upgrade! They have announced the front mount.
