The makers of syn oils deny this, but I remember switching a Yamaha 650 to Bel-Ray synthetic oil many years ago, and the engine began to immediately "sweat" oil through a porous spot in the engine case next to the main oil gallery to the head. This hadn't happened in 20,000 miles with conventional oil.

In that case (no pun intended), I sanded off the paint, degreased the spot and put on a layer of JB weld. That fixed the leak for good.

Sorry to digress, we now return you to the regular H-D content of this forum.
