Default I think I got lucky!

I was at the Jackson, Mississippi Harley dealer today and I mentioned to the service manager that I had a leaking oil seal in the left front fork that I was gonna have to replace. He told me that quite a few people bring their UltraClassics in thinking they have a fork seal leak, when it's actually grease running down the fork from overgreasing the fitting in the neck. I did grease mine a few months ago. After crawling around with a flashlight and mirror, I'm pretty sure it's just excess grease that has gotten hot and is seeping down the left fork. I'm hoping anyway. Wasn't looking forward to that job.

You went to the dealer when the coolest indy in the country is right there in Brandon? Just messing with you but you should go see Mark Boler over at Oasis cycle just to see the place if you never have.

I went through this shop, Oasis cycle, few months back to purchase a Bob Woods CV carb. All transaction's were done over the phone, because I'm 4hrs away. Nice people to deal with.

Not to take anything from the Jackson Harley dealership, I was going through Jackson to the A.H.D.R.A All Harley Cajun National's, in Sept 2011, & bike craped out. Called the Jackson dealership, on a busy Fri. afternoon, around 4, & they came out & picked me & the bike up. Couldn't get it fixed that day, but was on the road by 9, the next morning. Got in Belle Rose,La by 1 & enjoyed the rest of the week-end. Good people , too!
Ride Safe,
Harold

If you end up doing the front forks it's not that bad.

Just finished changing the fork oil in ole Blue. When I drained out the old, both sides had 8 ounces in them, so I don't have a leak after all. Having front air shocks through the handlebars made this job simple. Just drained and refilled through the drain hole. Yes, the guys at Jackson Harley and Oasis are ok!
