Was there an 84 FLH? Not an FLHT? I haven't heard of one. The evo motor won't fit in a FLH frame without cutting something somewhere. The FLHT has the same frame as the FLT. Major differences were the frame mounted faring (FLT) instead of the batwing faring (FLHT). The FLH, from Shovelhead Daze, is different. 4 speed frame very similar to a FL/FX frame, not a FXR.

See if you can find a 99483-86 shop manual. Others may cover your new bike, but I know that one will, as I have it.
