Haven't got the front off yet, work got way to busy. I'm going to take the head and cylinder to a machinist to get the pieces resurfaced. I'm not sure how long the gasket has been blown. The bike has 43k on it. Thanks for the tip about 2nd gear, I'll have to try that once I get it up and running again. I hope to work on it today.

What ever you do.. make sure you have plenty of blinker fluid!

I got mine back together, let it warm up because I was scared something was going to break.Shut it off...it fired back up, put the helmet on, and off I went!

I ordered some blinker fluid with my new flux capacitor, should be in later this week. I was thinking about replacing the valves while I have this apart. Do I need to replace the springs if I replace the valves or can I use the ones in there now?

Ok. so what do have , what miles , what experience , what do you want to do with it ? Need specific info. to attempt to help you.
You have disassembled the motors top end and are now asking questions that lead me to believe that you dont even have a manual .? You MUST purchase a genuine Harley manual for your year and model . Come back with more info.

The bike has 43k on it, this is the first time breaking a Harley engine down for me. I do have a genuine Harley manual for the make and year. I just got it into the machine shop. I should have the heads and cylinders back by Friday and I hope to have it back together this Saturday. I ended up replacing the valves with some Manley's. The original idea was to regasket the engine. I'm getting it ball honed and resurfaced, along with a valve job for the new valves. I'm hoping to just get it running nice and smooth.
