Why Evo?

insults? you mean sarcasm wrapped in a tortilla of ignorance? i'll be sure to go back and edit.. but really, that comment wasn't an insult to evo owners. my buddy had a '53 panhead that he'd put oil in nearly every time he took it out. this was before i was into motorcycles, so i never asked, cared, or questioned... but he was proud of the thing.. that was clear. and he literally did brag about the oil he'd put in it

wearing panties there big boy. using tissues, continue reading. You are correct to assume i know very little about evo's. as a matter of fact, i know NOTHING. starting trouble? not a tiger. i was asking so that someone would actually give me the harleys of old. some people like some people ... obviously

My apologies for the misunderstanding.
A pan and an evo are two different critters.
As for your friend maybe he was proud of keeping his bike running.
I have no idea why anybody would brag on their bike leaking.
As for myself I like evo's better because to me they are better designed.
The oil stays cooler and there are fewer moving parts (read less things to break).
The electrical system is also simpler on an evo (again less **** to go wrong).
Other than that I just don't like the way the Twincams I have ridden feel.
To me they feel more like a Honda than a Harley.
That is just my 2 cents.

when i hear the way an evo sounds i feel like i'm on a honda. just something about those bikes with a good cam in them you can't replicate (at least i don't think you can)

I wish. Hind sight I shoulda bought an evo. I was new to HD and bought a bran new 07 thinking it would be better than anything previous. Boy was I wrong. Nothing but a $$$ pit. Hopefully this new S&S 124" will last longer than the stocker. Ive replaced/repaired everything but the wire harness and front end.

Have you tried cams in your motor yet?
Of all the things I have done to mine that was the single best improvement.
