If your not replacing the springs or need to replace # 30 in above parts picture, no need to remove end cap, the correct allen drive socket, impact wrench, snap ring pliers, and a split pvc coupling and a hose clamp are the only tools required to replace seals.

Lovely thing about the anti-dive air system is the easy, 20 minute fork oil changes, which also makes it possible to replace seals and bushings without getting into the fairing.

Remove schrader valve, drain oil, use a mighty vac connected to the air valve to pull new oil into forks, I use 11oz of 10 or 15w BelRay in each on mine.

How do you do that with the cow bells covering the snap ring?

When the #13 allen head bolt is removed from the bottom, the lower will drop down.

All good news, thanks all- I had something occur to me and looked at the previous owners bills- the seals were done about 20000 km ago. with this in mind, i looked at the oil leak- and the hose connecting the air solenoid to the handlebars was loose and leaking oil. replaced it , put in 10 psi, and it is still holding today. the oil was leaking out there and running down, it looks like the seals are fine!!!! great!, and also good to know that seals can be done without removing forks. now back to painting and new tires and front brake lines to try to get rid of the mushy feeling which bleeding doesn't help.

Use braided brake lines.
