Nothing is supposed to be in that hole, but air. Plug it and problems will arise.

Strange seeing this today.

89 flhs.

I have only had this bike since Feb. I noticed for the first time today when I disassembled the air cleaner. What are the 2 threaded holes at 4 and 7 o'clock positions? They are inside the surround of the air filter which means air is bypassing the filter. I'm guessing oil breather hose connections?

Heck, it's been off and on for a while. I'm thinking carburetor rebuild time.....

It's open to any kind of crap that can get sucked in. Is that the way its supposed to be?

Mine has plugs in those holes.

Must be a later model filter plate. Now all I need to do is find a couple plugs. Any idea what thread pitch or size plug?

I don't know what thread pitch or size but if you take it to Home Depot or any hard ware place you can experiment with their bolts till you find it.

Just a suggestion.

You are kidding right?
TD is not using that hole for his breather hose so why leave it open?

Mine aren't really threaded. They have ridges to catch the ridges on the plugs........

I had "hard ware" once, but, I wouldn't go to a hardware store to fix the problem..... yea, I'm a smart AST...........

Goodnight friends................
