Hold the carb body up to that backing plate (or vice-versa.) Isn't there a hole in the carb body right there? If there is not, then plug the hole. If there is, leave it alone.

There's one hole that lines up with one on the carb body, and this one that doesn't.

Oh. I thought that hole was the one lining up with the carb hole, so that's why I said don't plug it. If it doesn't line up, plug it.

What does the one that lines up do? The gaskets I bought were the wrong ones, so, I made one and I don't think that hole was perfectly cleaned out.

that is your air bleed hole if you close it off it will change the timing of the jet
it will come in sooner on the rpm and run rich.

Thanks. I checked it, and it's wide open.

So, I went to my carb manual and started from scratch.

I turned off the accelerator pump per the instructions and took a ride. The low speed/rpm miss was almost completely gone.

Intermediate jet too big?

I'm running the .028 and a 72 main.

Manual says .028 and .066.
