The one we have is definitely not soft, more like polyurethane. It's from a '98 if I remember correctly. Put it in in 2003 when we built the bike, have over 50,000 and it is still like new. Probably 80-100 dyno runs on it too !!!

Well, I did all the reading posted for me and now I want an 1125cr more than ever. If I purchase one of these I'm going to England and racing Graham and Buttercup for sure. Those bikes have almost no resale value, like our Evos. Ha!

OOOPS.

3600 mi and they broke again, grade 9 bolts.
I was getting about 350 mi before the last fix, so this is definitely better.
I guess I'll try to align again see if I can get better than it is.
At least I seem to be on the right track.
If anyone has any more good ideas I'm all ears.

Check the rear bolts of your motor are tight?
And id dig into the rear mounts, make sure tranny is sound and check the freeplay on the swing arm?
And check your top motor mount is tight, that could cause alot of fore aft shaking could break them if it isnt kosher?
Shots in the dark but what else could cause such a thing ya gotta wonder.

I've had the same problem as John of an 05' 88.

My motor mount was torn and had to be replaced at say 95K. Used a genuine HD mount which was stiffer than the original and vibrated bad. The bolts broke and fell out. I replaced with grade 8 gold type and they broke again. Put in Glide Pro polyurethane mount and it rode great. The bolts broke again. I think I was over tightening the bolts. Used torque specs in manual with locktite red. Lasted about 5K miles this time. Put another set of grade 8 bolts in there yesterday because I had them. Running smooth as silk today.
My question is, If it runs smooth when bolts are replaced why would it need alignment. I had swing arm bushings replaced at 128K by HD techs. They should know what they are doing.
