Right now ebay prices are screwed up...one seller has sold a couple of really nice, very complete FL springers on there for big bucks...so everybody with their incomplete FX springers thinks they are worth $3500...lol. This won't last, none of them are selling. Do 2 searches..."Harley springer forks" and "Harley springer front end"...click on "follow this search"...get up every morning and check your email and be ready to buy, because when you see one for a descent price and a BIN...it won't be there when you get home from work.

i did this on my 91 fxsts... i replaced just the front fork and then bought the proper fender and hardware

i was lucky enough to find a front fork on ebay back when i did this

harley actually used to make a lowering kit for the pre 93 springers that included the front fork, dog bones and whatever other hardware was necessary

Thanks tom, I saw that one this morning. Was hoping it was going to be a buy it now, but for now its on my watch list. There was one that ended today that I bid on, unfortunately I was the only one to bid and reserve wasn't met.

Here's an idea...since you have an FL springer...lots of the FX CVO bikes used an FL springer...the fender on them looks just like a crossbones fender...see lots of crossbones with the front fender removed...gotta come up on ebay...build a CVO clone?

Have you ever ground the tabs off the posts on a pre 93 front fork? I wonder if you do if the posts are tapped to accept the dog bones.

The question is how do you turn the step in it with it welded to the fork, or if it is even in the correct location? I would be willing to bet the one on the left is a tube if you cut into it, while the one on the right is solid.
